From now on, I do write sometimes also in english.
Before I write about the time between Szeged and Arad, I will just report about arriving and being in Arad. We asked in a rumanian orthodox church. A singer came to us, Matthew. He bought first food, vegetables and fruits, on the market on the square before the church and than he organized for us 4 a free night in Hotel Ardealul – The best Hotel in town, in the centre, closed to the theater.
The next day Paulin and Magdalene started a „little holiday from the pilgrimage“ to Belgrade, so Bruno and me asking for another 2 nights for staying in the same Hotel. The hotel director agrees!!!
Because in this city there is no Internet Cafe, we have to ask around and now we are guest at a online newspaper, sitting here, writing for you. Also they want to do a interview with us.
Finally Christian is calling. We are planing to walk through the Carpathian Mountains, so we need hiking maps. It is anyway not so easy to find hiking maps in Rumania, and also hiking maps are rare. Christian is working in a bookshop in a big shopping mall here in Arad. There are hiking maps to order, but to order so many, and it takes time to get them here – and than we are gone. Christian will help us to have at least some hiking maps for the biggest mountain areas and he organized also a CD with maps, so we maid be able to print them step by step. So we have to see him in the afternoon. Also he showed as yesterday a website, where we can print maps……
To us the Rumanian are great. Until now everything works very well. We get food and shelter, we do not have to ask around a lot. Sometimes the people even come to us, asking us, what we need.
We really feel welcome here in this country.
Thanks for all the Rumanians already. And a big big smile 🙂
